Vincennes man wins $250,000 playing Mega Millions®
INDIANAPOLIS– Michael Laidle of Vincennes matched all six numbers in the Jan.20 Mega Millions drawing. Unfortunately for Laidle, he didn’t match them all on one ticket. He matched the Megaball® number on one ticket and the first five numbers on another ticket. Thankfully, the five of five he matched earned him a $250,000 prize. The lucky Hoosier claimed his winnings at Hoosier Lottery headquarters Jan. 24.
As he waited for his check, Laidle had a very laid back approach to winning. He smiled from ear to ear the whole time, but remained cool as a cucumber. He said he plans to use his winnings to pay off and remodel the home he purchased about five years ago. He says beyond that, he has no other plans and he doesn’t want for much or have many materialistic needs.
The retired factory worker has one grown daughter and two grandchildren. He considers himself lucky.
“I’ve been winning all my life,” said Laidle.
The Jan. 20 Mega Millions numbers that paid off for Laidle were: 1-9-28-38-47-MB: 8. The Megaplier was 2.
Friday night’s Mega Millions jackpot is an estimated $12 million.
