A lifelong Gary resident is looking forward to buying  a new truck and giving her savings account a boost after claiming a $125,000 scratch-off prize at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters in Indianapolis today. Catheryn Alford, a mother of four grown children, grandmother of eight and great-grandmother of one, says she can’t wait to buy a brand new 2011 Ford truck with her winnings. Alford walked away with enough for a new truck - and more.  Because she won on the $125,000 Taxes Paid Scratch-off she actually received a check for $125,000 with no taxes withheld from her winnings.  The Hoosier Lottery pays standard federal and state withholding on the $125,000 prize. “It’s great!” said Alford.  “It’s great!  Just great!” To read more about Caheryn's story, click here.
