$200,000 Powerball Win "A Blessing" for Indy Mother
INDIANAPOLIS – An Indianapolis woman can breathe a little easier after winning $200,000
in the April 7 Powerball
drawing. Tracy Davis
matched the first five numbers, but not the Powerball
number, in last night's drawing.
"It's a miracle," said Davis. "It's a blessing. That's probably a better word to describe it."
Although she was one number away from the $125 million
jackpot, she isn't concerned. She is more excited about what she has than what might have been. Davis said her win is just the icing on the cake - the latest in a string of meaningful things to happen in her life.
"In the last year things have been going so great. I got divorced last year, but I've met somebody and now we have a house. I got a promotion last week and now this!"
Davis works full-time at Apria Healthcare and goes to school where she is pursuing a degree in Health Information Technology. She does it all while raising four children between the ages of 4 and 15 that she and her boyfriend have between them. She said her win will let her breathe a little easier.
"I'm so excited!" said Davis. "It's stability. I can get a stable car, pay off my bills. It's going to make a difference in my life."
Davis purchased her winning ticket at Village Pantry #0593 at 3131 E. Troy in Beech Grove.
The winning numbers on April 7 were: 4-36-40-44-52 PB:33. Saturday's Powerball jackpot is $150 million.
