21st and Post Road Marsh sells jackpot-winning ticket
INDIANAPOLIS – The Marsh Supermarket at 2135 N. Post Road in Indianapolis sold a Cash 5 ticket worth $149,788 in last night’s drawing. The winning ticket matched all five numbers in the March 4 Cash 5 drawing. Those winning numbers are: 5-15-21-24-28.
That prize was claimed today by Roger Phillips of Indianapolis. The young man said he was “shocked” by his win.
“I looked at the ticket and looked at it again,” said Phillips. “Then I looked at it a couple more times.”
Phillips said he plans to use his winnings to pay off his truck, and help his mother and little brother.
“It’s a blessing,” said Phillips.
Phillips is a regular at the Post Road Marsh where he purchased his lucky ticket. The store is less than a mile down the road from another notable Hoosier Lottery retailer, a Speedway gas station that sold two big winning tickets lately; a $1 million Powerball® ticket and a $9.5 million Hoosier Lotto ticket.
The Marsh Supermarket now joins retailers in Hoosier cities of Batesville, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Merrillville, Monterey, Muncie, Monticello and South Bend in selling jackpot-winning Cash 5 tickets.
Cash 5 launched Nov. 4 and is the Hoosier Lottery’s newest draw game. The nightly game averages more than 4,000 winners every night, offers the best cash odds of any Hoosier Lottery draw game and costs just $1 per play. The overall odds of winning are 1 in 8.8. The jackpot starts at $50,000 and rolls, or increases, every night until it is hit.
Players may purchase Cash 5 tickets anywhere Hoosier Lottery draw games are sold and may be purchased simply by asking a retail clerk for "Cash 5."
