Beech Grove Woman Wins $300,000 from Hoosier Lottery
INDIANAPOLIS – Deloris Murphy
of Beech Grove
is looking forward to a good summer now that she has an extra $300,000
in the bank.
Murphy just became the fourth Hoosier Lottery player to win a top prize on the Quick Draw
game. Murphy claimed her prize at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters today.
"I can't believe this," said Murphy. "This is such a blessing."
Murphy is an occasional Hoosier Lottery player who says she plays when she has some extra cash on hand. She said she's had some luck with Quick Draw before.
"I've won a few dollars here and there in the past, so I play when I've got a few extra bucks," said Murphy. "It just seems easier to match."
The Tennessee-native plans to seek financial and tax adavice before she spends any of her winnings.
"I'm going to take my time, get my ducks in a row," said Murphy.
"I'm going to buy a house and a reliable, but not necessarily new, car," said Murphy. "I just moved and I have some extra bills coming up, so this really helps."
Since 1989, Hoosier Lottery players have won more than $7.6 billion in prizes. The Hoosier Lottery has transferred $3.7 billion to the state for the benefit of the citizens of Indiana.
The Hoosier Lottery reminds all players to please play responsibly.
