Cash 5 players can expect faster growing jackpots

INDIANAPOLIS (April 13, 2014) - Players of the Hoosier Lottery's popular Cash 5 draw game can expect to see faster growing jackpots starting today.  Changes to the structure of the game were made to allow the jackpot to grow bigger faster.

The cost of the game remains the same, at $1.

Cash 5 debuted Nov. 4, 2012 and has become extremely popular among Hoosiers, many of whom enjoy the game for it's $1 price point, ease-of-play and daily growing jackpots. The ease-of-play and $1 price point remain, but players will now see even faster growing jackpots starting tonight. The starting jackpot will remain $50,000, but the jackpot will grow at least $5,000 every night until the jackpot is hit.

Under the new structure, the prize for matching two of the five numbers is a FREE ticket. The field of numbers players have to chose from will increase from 39 to 41. With the field of possible numbers getting bigger, the overall odds are getting a little longer, changing from 1:8.8 to 1:9.6, as will jackpot odds which are changing from 1:575,757 to 1:749,398. The changes are designed to allow the jackpots to grow bigger faster.

The changes take effect with tonight's $137,500 drawing.
