Crown Point man wins $1 million on a Scratch-off
Father-of-two plans to buy house and take his family to Disney World
INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 11, 2013) - A Crown Point man said his family was the first thing to flash through his mind when he scratched off a $1 million prize on a Hoosier Lottery Scratch-off this week.
"I immediately thought of my family," said Rene Mendoza. "I can do a lot of things. I can buy a house."
The Nortrak worker and father-of-two purchased and scratched his winning ticket at the BP AM/PM at 5601 West Lincoln Highway in Crown Point. He claimed his prize at Hoosier Lottery headquarters in Indianapolis Oct. 8.
Mendoza said the $10 ticket, an $80 Million Cash Spectacular ticket, is the family's ticket to a new home - and a Disney World vacation his children will always remember. Mendoza plans to take his children, ages eight and four, as well as his parents on a big family vacation to Disney World.
