East central Indiana Scratch-off wins translate to college educations for two winners

INDIANAPOLIS – The first two $150,000 top prize winners on the Lucky Loot Scratch-off game both plan to use their winnings for college educations.  Both winners live in east central Indiana and both recently purchased their winning tickets at Village Pantry locations.

DoyleWith his parents in tow, 19-year-old Cody Doyle of Connersville claimed a $150,000 prize on the Lucky Loot Scratch-off game Dec. 31.  The IU East student plans to invest in his future and use his winnings to cover the cost of earning his business degree.

The Fayette County man purchased his winning ticket at Village Pantry at 513 W. 3rd Street in Connersville.  According to his mother, Julie Doyle, Cody also plans to “buy his mother a new dishwasher.”

The cost of a college education is something that another east central Indiana Lucky Loot winner, Sean and Cathy Murphy of Anderson, are very familiar with.  The Madison County couple has a son that just graduated from college and two daughters currently in college.  They plan to use their $150,000 Lucky Loot prize winnings to cover their children’s education expenses.

Murphy“It will feel good not to have any debt,” said Sean Murphy.

Murphy purchased his winning ticket at Village Pantry at 111 E. 53rd Street in Anderson. The lucky couple claimed their prize at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters in Indianapolis today.

“We won on our youngest daughter’s 19th birthday,” said Cathy Murphy. “They all made it out of their teen years without any major problems so I guess this is our reward for raising three good kids!”

Three top prizes remain unclaimed on the Lucky Loot game at this time.
