At an estimated $400 million, the gigantic Mega Millions jackpot represents the third largest prize in Mega Millions history, and the sixth largest jackpot ever in North America. If a lucky Hoosier were to win the prize he or she would choose between the annuitized jackpot, payable over 30 years, or the cash value, paid in one lump sum of $224 million (less taxes).
Mega Millions tickets are just $1 per wager and are available at over 4,000 retailers across the state of Indiana. More than 72,000 Mega Millions players in Indiana won prizes in Friday night's $353 million drawing.
Indianapolis players who are feeling especially lucky can purchase their Mega Millions tickets at the Indianapolis St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival at the Hoosier Lottery Imagine That stage on Vermont Street from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. They can also meet the Mega MiIlions mascot as well as Hoosier Millionaire hosts Tony Lamont and Barbara Hobbs from noon to 2 p.m.
