Fort Wayne Man Gets $150,000 and Second Chance
INDIANAPOLIS – A Fort Wayne
man knows what it means to be lucky. Troy Bowling
claimed a $150,000
prize on a Hoosier Lottery scratch-off ticket today - and it isn't the biggest thing to happen to him this month. The Allen County man's windfall comes on the heels of a health scare that has given him a new perspective, and a new understanding of what it means to be lucky.
Two weeks ago, Bowling suffered a heart attack while playing racquetball. He is currently on the road to a full recovery.
"I'm pretty lucky to be here," said Bowling of his heart attack.
His scare, along with the newfound financial freedom of his win, have inspired him to do something he's always wanted to do. Bowling plans to use his winnings to buy a Harley Davidson motorcycle and ride it to Alaska with his buddy this summer.
"I've always wanted to do something like that, and now I think I can," said Bowling. "Thank you!"
Bowling is a heavy equipment operator. He purchased his winning 20x the Money ticket at Ricker's #55 at 5916 Saint Joe Road in Fort Wayne.
The Hoosier Lottery reminds all players to please play responsibly.
