Fort Wayne nurse cashes in on FREE Cash 5 ticket

HarmanINDIANAPOLIS –An Allen County nurse has laid claim to a Hoosier Lottery Cash 5 jackpot worth $52,500, by way of a free promotional ticket.

Nancy Harman of Fort Wayne is the second Hoosier to win a jackpot on the new rolling jackpot game – and she did it on a free ticket.  On Nov. 17 Harman purchased a Powerball ticket at Speedway at 6033 W. Jefferson Blvd. in Fort Wayne, and thanks to a Hoosier Lottery promotion, she randomly received a coupon for a free Cash 5 ticket, which she redeemed immediately.

Harman put the free Cash 5 ticket in her purse and didn’t think about it again until she went to check her Powerball ticket a few days later.  She was shocked to discover she had won the Cash 5 jackpot of $52,500! Her ticket matched all five numbers drawn in the Nov. 17 drawing: 7-11-26-34-36.

Harman has worked as a psychiatric nurse for 38 years.  The lucky Hoosier plans to put her winnings in the bank.  She is excited to be able to help out her children and granddaughter.

Harman is the second lucky player to win a jackpot on the new game.  Edgar Relf of Merrillville claimed the first Cash 5 jackpot, a $77,500 prize from the Nov. 15 drawing.

Cash 5 features the best cash odds of any Hoosier Lottery draw game and a jackpot that starts at $50,000. The jackpot rolls, or increases, every day until it is hit.

The current Cash 5 jackpot is $106,000, the game’s highest-ever prize.

The overall odds of winning are 1 in 8.8.

Players may purchase Cash 5 tickets anywhere Hoosier Lottery draw games are sold. Tickets cost $1 per play and may be purchased simply by asking a retail clerk for "Cash 5."
