Hoosier Lottery launches “Cash For Life”
unique family of scratch-off games
Top-prize winners can choose to be paid for the rest of their lives
INDIANAPOLIS – “Cash For Life,” a new unique family of scratch-off games from the Hoosier Lottery, hits retailers statewide Thursday.
The four-game set, which gives players the choice between tickets that cost $1, $2, $5 or $10, offers a chance to win top prizes that range from $500 a week for life to $5,000 a week for life. Upon their launch, the Cash For Life games will become a staple within
the Hoosier Lottery scratch-off lineup, will always be available at retailers
and will always feature available top prizes.
- For $1, players can take a shot at top prizes of $500 a week for life. (Estimated overall odds: 1:4.90)
- For $2, players can aim for top prizes of $1,000 a week for life. (Estimated overall odds: 1:4.74)
- For $5, players can shoot for top prizes of $2,500 a week for life. (Estimated overall odds: 1:4.13)
- For $10, players can try their luck at top prizes of $5,000 a week for life. (Estimated overall odds: 1:3.56)
“The Cash For Life games are unique because the top prize offers winners the opportunity to receive payments for the rest of their lives,” said Jessica Powell, Vice President of Marketing for the Hoosier Lottery. “With Cash for Life, the longer a winner lives, the more the Hoosier Lottery gives.”
Players may purchase Cash For Life Scratch-offs anywhere Hoosier Lottery tickets are sold.
The mission of the Hoosier Lottery is to maximize net income for the state in a socially-responsible manner. In fiscal year 2012, the Hoosier Lottery generated $211 million in surplus revenue which was used to significantly reduce the motor vehicle excise tax for all Hoosier drivers and also supported the pension funds for retired Indiana teachers, police and firefighters. Player prizes for the fiscal year totaled $533 million and $60 million was earned by Indiana retailers on the sale of Hoosier Lottery products.
Since its inception in 1989, the Hoosier Lottery has produced more than $4.2 billion for the citizens of Indiana, $1 billion in commissions and bonuses for participating Indiana retailers, and has paid out more than $8.9 billion in player prizes.
