Hoosier Lottery meets with central Indiana retailer advisory board
INDIANAPOLIS - Hoosier Lottery officials continued to strengthen ties with its retail network in Indiana on Tuesday morning, hosting a retailer advisory board meeting for the central Indiana region.
The round-table discussion created an open exchange between Hoosier Lottery management and retailers representing a cross-section of those carrying Hoosier Lottery products in central Indiana. Both chain stores and independent stores were represented among the attendees, as were long-standing retailers and those that are relatively new to the Hoosier Lottery.
As part of the meeting, Hoosier Lottery officials presented to retailers the key points of its future business plan, which will responsibly generate more than $200 million in new retailer commissions between fiscal year 2014 and fiscal year 2018.
"The importance of our retail partners cannot be overstated, especially here in central Indiana. Simply put, we are grateful for them and so appreciative of what they do," said Connie Laverty O'Connor, CEO of GTECH Indiana, working on behalf of the State Lottery Commission of Indiana. "Listening to their insights, suggestions and concerns on an ongoing basis is invaluable to helping us build the Hoosier Lottery brand and making it more relevant to all Hoosiers."
"Clearly, the population in this region of the state is a big driver for our business and for our retailers' businesses," said Laverty O'Connor, "and it's essential that the Hoosier Lottery be responsive and supportive to the retailers that serve that population."
Tuesday's meeting was the first of three retailer advisory board meetings that will be held around the state in the next nine days. The Hoosier Lottery will meet with a group of northern Indiana retailers in South Bend tomorrow and with retailers in the Evansville area Dec. 12.
An initial retailer advisory board meeting was held in Fort Wayne Nov. 7.
