Indianapolis dental assistant claims $124,500 prize
Popular Indianapolis retailer sells the winning ticket
INDIANAPOLIS (July 26, 2013) - A dental assistant in Indianapolis is the latest lucky Hoosier to claim a Cash 5 jackpot prize. Lynnette Johnson claimed her $124,500 winnings Thursday morning at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters in Indianapolis.
All five numbers on Johnson's ticket matched the five winning numbers drawn in the July 16 Cash 5 drawing. Those winning numbers were: 09-14-19-29-30. Johnson's lucky numbers were numbers of her own choosing.
With some extra cash in the bank, the lucky lady said she plans to celebrate with a weekend getaway to Macy's Music Festival in Cincinnati.
"It's exciting. I'm going to have a good time this weekend," joked Johnson. "I can take some dollars with me now instead of just pennies."
Johnson purchased her lucky ticket at Silver Express at 8328 West 10th Street in Indianapolis. The retailer is consistently one of the top retailers in the state and now joins retailers in Batesville, Fort Wayne, Greenfield, Hammond, Indianapolis, Jasonville, Merrillville, Michigan City, Monterey, Monticello, Muncie, New Haven, Remington, South Bend and Whiteland in selling Cash 5 jackpot-winning tickets.
Cash 5 averages more than 4,000 winners every night and costs just $1 per play. The overall odds of winning are 1 in 8.8. The jackpot starts at $50,000 and rolls, or increases, every night until it is hit.
