Indianapolis man wins $10,000 at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters
INDIANAPOLIS – An Indianapolis man topped off a week of Scratch-off wins with a $10,000 win on a ticket purchased directly from Hoosier Lottery Headquarters in Indianapolis. Richard Thomas was at the Hoosier Lottery Headquarters Prize Payment office at 201 S. Capitol Ave. last Friday when he purchased a Scratch-off from claims clerk Danielle Alums. That ticket turned out to be worth $10,000!
“We are so excited to sell a big winner here,” said Flora Jones, Hoosier Lottery Prize Payment Manager. “It’s so much fun to be a part of his win!”
Thomas’ Headquarters win topped off a string of nice wins last week. Early in the week he purchased three Scratch-offs that netted him two $100 prizes and a $1,000 prize. While at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters cashing in his $1,000 prize he bought three more tickets and won $20, $30 and $10,000. Thomas’s $10,000 win was on the $10 $80 Million Cash Spectacular game. The other winners were on that game and the $20 $100 Million Cash Extravaganza game.
Thomas is a Marion County Sherriff’s Deputy. He plans to use his winnings to expand an already-in-the-works annual Florida fishing trip.
“I think it’s going to be better now,” joked Thomas. “Instead of seven, it might be ten or fourteen days.”
The $80 Million Cash Spectacular and $100 Million Cash Extravaganza Scratch-offs offer an amazing amount of winning experiences and are designed to pay out approximately $80 and $100 million respectively. At this time, five top prizes of $1 million remain unclaimed on the $80 Million Cash Spectacular. Two top prizes of $5 million and five top prizes of $1 million remain unclaimed on the $100 Million Cash Spectacular game. Click here and here to see all prizes available on these Scratch-offs.
As with all Hoosier Lottery games, the net income generated from the sale of Scratch-offs in Indiana is turned over to the state. Last year, the Hoosier Lottery transferred $190 million to the state where it was allocated to teachers, police and firefighters retirement funds as well as the Build Indiana Fund which ultimately reduces Hoosiers’ license plate costs.
The Hoosier Lottery reminds players to always play responsibly, and to always sign the back of their tickets.
