Indianapolis railroad conductor hauls in
$50,000 Cash 5 jackpot
INDIANAPOLIS – Simply coming to the end of a 12-hour overnight work shift is a pretty good feeling all by itself. Doing that and then immediately finding out you are holding a winning Cash 5 ticket worth $50,000 is obviously a whole lot better.
John Moody III of Indianapolis works fulltime as a railroad conductor and just wrapped up a long shift early Monday morning when he decided to check Sunday night’s Cash 5 winning numbers. Moody III, who plays his own set of five numbers in every Cash 5 drawing, glanced casually at the numbers and then looked more closely.
“I saw the winning numbers and thought they looked awfully familiar,” said Moody III. “I started sweating and just couldn’t believe it. I was just numb.
“I’ve played Cash 5 since the day it came out,” said Moody III. “It was a no-brainer; it just seems like a winnable game.”
Moody III said he’ll use his winnings to pay off a few bills and also said his wife would like to enroll in a beauty school. But, that’s not all.
“I’m going to buy me a fishing pole,” said Moody III, “and I mean a nice fishing pole.”
