Indianapolis woman wins $100,000 in Scratch-off
INDIANAPOLIS – The holidays are looking a little greener this year for an Indianapolis woman after she won the top prize in a Hoosier Lottery Scratch-off.
Debra Campbell and her husband Joel came to Hoosier Lottery Headquarters in the Circle City December 13 to claim her $100,000 from the $100,000 Payout Scratch-off. Campbell, a self-described “very occasional” player, said she bought her ticket because she was “feeling lucky.”
“I had a lucky feeling Friday (December 10) so I went out and bought some of the $100,000 Payout tickets,” she said. “I thought I’d just won $10,000, and when I realized I won $100,000, I just started crying. I’ve never won anything like that in my life.”
The excitement soon gave way to anticipation, as she and Joel both had to wait until the weekend ended to come face-to-face with the possibilities the prize opened up.
“We had to wait all weekend! I was like, ‘Monday is never going to come around!’” she exclaimed.
Campbell bought her ticket at the Village Pantry at 4023 E. 10th St., in Indianapolis.
The Hoosier Lottery reminds players to always play responsibly, and to always sign the back of their tickets.
