Kokomo man has lucky Sunday!
Retiree wins $83,000 lottery prize at Buddy's Mart on Ohio Street
INDIANAPOLIS (March 25, 2014) - Sunday was a lucky day for Robert Briscoe of Kokomo. Briscoe won $83,000 from the Hoosier Lottery in Sunday night's Cash 5 drawing after purchasing a ticket that matched all five numbers at Buddy's Mart at 100 North Ohio Street in Kokomo. He claimed his prize Monday at Hoosier Lottery headquarters in Indianapolis.
Briscoe's lucky numbers and Sunday's winning Cash 5 numbers were: 4-9-13-16-37.
Briscoe said he was hesitant to believe his good fortune, even after checking and double-checking his numbers "about 10 times."
"I kept saying 'I know this ticket can't be right,'" said Briscoe. "I don't have this kind of luck!"
With cash in the bank, and options opening up in front of him, Briscoe might have to accept that he does have "this kind of luck." The Howard County man plans to pay off his car, get his finances in order and look into the possibility of purchasing a house.
Briscoe's lucky ticket was a Quick Pick, meaning he did not select his own numbers, but rather let the terminal generate the five numbers on his ticket.
Cash 5 tickets cost just $1 per play and drawings are held every night. The jackpot starts at $50,000 and grows every drawing until it is hit. Tonight's jackpot is $52,500.
