Lucky 7s for Elkhart County Toll Road Worker

Lara MitchellINDIANAPOLIS – An Elkhart County toll road worker is the latest Hoosier to win big on a Hoosier Lottery scratch-off ticket.  Bristol residents Lara and Marvin Mitchell came to Hoosier Lottery Headquarters Tuesday, March 9 to collect Lara's $77,777 winnings on scratch-off game Lucky 7s.

"The game was a gift from my husband," said Mitchell. "I always play the games with sevens on them."

Mitchell is a supervisor on the Indiana toll road. After scratching the ticket, the Elkhart County woman was shocked to discover her good fortune.

"I about had a heart attack!" said Mitchell. "I scratched off the black seven and screamed a little bit."

It took some convincing to get her husband to believe that she had won a $77,777 top prize.

"I handed him the ticket and he tossed it back to me," said Mitchell. "He couldn't believe it."

The Mitchells intend to invest the money.

"God bless you and thank you," said Mitchell.

Marvin Mitchell purchased the winning ticket from Low Bob's #1023 at 1501 S. Nappanee Suite 4 in Elkhart.
