Lucky Feeling Proves True for Winona Lake Couple

mcdadeINDIANAPOLIS – Kris Hitt of Winona Lake felt lucky last Saturday when he and his significant other Marta McDade walked into a Pak-A-Sak in Warsaw and bought a Hoosier Lottery scratch-off ticket.  It turns out, he was lucky. Really lucky. He was $100,000 lucky.  The $100,000 Cash Flow ticket he picked at random turned out to be worth $100,000.

As the Kosciusko County couple claimed their prize Monday at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters in Indianapolis they talked about what it feels like to hit the big one.

"We were in shock," said Hitt. "I kept asking 'Are you sure this is right?'"

"I live on a widow's pension and he's on disability.  We live paycheck to paycheck.  This is unreal," said McDade. "Truthfully, it's unreal."

McDade says she plans to pay off her mobile home and her car and then the couple plan to take a trip to Oklahoma to see Hitt's daughter and 6 year-old granddaughter.

Hitt and McDade bought their lucky ticket at Pak-A-Sak at 2535 US HWY 30 East in Warsaw.

Since 1989, Hoosier Lottery players have won more than $7.6 billion in prizes. The Hoosier Lottery has transferred $3.7 billion to the state for the benefit of the citizens of Indiana.
