Mega Millions swells to $257 million!
INDIANAPOLIS (Dec. 3, 2013) - Tuesday night's Mega Millions jackpot has swelled to $257 million and is the largest Mega Millions jackpot in more than a year and a half. Hoosiers haven't had a shot at a Mega Millions jackpot this big since March 2012.
If a Hoosier were to hit tomorrow night's $257 million jackpot, they would lay claim to the third largest prize ever won in the Hoosier state. Only two bigger prizes have ever been won in Indiana; $314 million Powerball jackpot in 2007 and a $295 million Powerball jackpot in 1998.
The deadline to purchase tickets for Tuesday night's drawing is 10:44 p.m. Eastern. Mega Millions tickets cost just $1 and are available at more than 4,000 Hoosier Lottery retailers statewide.
Hoosiers who want to try their luck at the $257 million jackpot - but aren't sure how to play or purchase - simply need to ask for the game by name. Playing Mega Millions is as easy as asking a sales associate for "Mega Millions" wherever Hoosiers buy gas or groceries.
Mega Millions has been available in Indiana since January 2010. The game is played in 43 states, the Disctrict of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
