Merrillville retailer sells first jackpot-winning ticket
for new Hoosier Lottery game Cash 5
INDIANAPOLIS - It took only 12 draws for the Hoosier Lottery’s newest game, Cash 5, to produce its first jackpot winner and the winning ticket was purchased at a retailer in Merrillville.
The winning ticket, which matched all five numbers in last night’s Cash 5 drawing, was purchased at GoLo at 6085 Cleveland Circle and is worth $77,500. The winning numbers were: 8-9-19-29-39.
Cash 5, which costs just $1 to play and draws every night, features the best cash odds of any Hoosier Lottery draw game and a jackpot that starts at $50,000. The jackpot rolls, or increases, every day until it is hit.
The overall odds of winning are 1 in 8.8.
The jackpot hit came the night before the start of the Hoosier Lottery’s “Cash 5 Weekend” promotion, which gives players a chance to win a coupon good for a free Cash 5 ticket with the purchase of any eligible draw game -- like Powerball – from today through Sunday.
Players may purchase Cash 5 tickets anywhere Hoosier Lottery draw games are sold. Tickets cost $1 per play and may be purchased simply by asking a retail clerk for “Cash 5.”
Winning Cash 5 numbers will be drawn nightly at approximately 10:50 p.m.
