Sudden win means new AC and mini-vacation for Mooresville couple
INDIANAPOLIS - Julie Belfire of Mooresville is the latest lucky Hoosier to claim a $50,000 top prize on the Wild Cherry Crossword Tripler game. Belfire and her husband Sean collected their winnings at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters May 23, less than two hours after Julie purchased her winning ticket.
Though they hadn't had much time to think about it, the couple knew exactly what they plan to do with their sudden windfall.
"We're getting central air!" said Julie Belfire. "And a new car. I hate my car, but the AC's the first thing!"
The lucky couple's prize-claiming experience was made even sweeter as they realized they were suddenly in a position to be able to take a mini-vacation over the long holiday weekend.
"Let's go to French Lick," said Sean Belfire. "I've been working 12-hour shifts, six days a week."
"We could! Oh my Gosh, we could!" concurred Julie Belfire. "Let's go!"
Julie purchased her winning Scratch-off at Brooklyn Dairyland at 8074 North State Roadd 57 in Mooresville.
