scratch-off ticket. Retiree Gary Steele
actually came up from Mitchell to Indianapolis to claim his $75,000
Steele said he was in shock when he first scratched off the $75,000 prize.
"Is that really seventy-five thousand dollars?" said Steele, who claimed the top prize with his girlfriend, Juanita, and daughter, Tina.
The Lawrence County resident purchases all of his Lottery games from 60 Eastside (Milo, Inc.) at 282 State Road 60 in Mitchell.
"They've had a lot of winners there," said Steele. "It's my lucky place."
Steele chose the game because he and his girlfriend are fans of the show.
"Plus, it's a new game!" said Steele.
He plans to purchase a new pick-up truck with his winnings.
Since 1989 the Hoosier Lottery has transferred $3.7 billion to the state for the benefit of the citizens of Indiana.
