Indiana's homegrown favorite, Hoosier Lotto, has a whopping $20 million jackpot for tonight's drawing!
The Hoosier Lotto jackpot has been building since it was last won in October 2013, when Richard McMurray of Bloomington claimed a $3.5 million jackpot. The lucky player joined more than 100 other Hoosier Lotto winners over the years who have claimed Hoosier Lotto jackpots.
The Hoosier Lotto jackpot has been hit 26 times in the last five years. Players in the cities of Indianapolis, Elkhart, Summitville, Jasper, Moores Hill, Glenwood, Daleville, New Albany, Muncie, Highland, Columbus, Frankfort, Newport, Huntertown, Bedford, Guston and Bloomington all laid claim to jackpot hits ranging from $1 milion to $34 million in the last five years.
The largest Hoosier Lotto jackpot ever was $54 million and was won by retired East Chicago steelworker Peter Gilbert, who claimed his prize in November 2007.
In addition to the jackpot prizes, which are won when all six drawn numbers are matched, Hoosier Lotto pays pari-mutuel prizes on match four and match five numbers. The game also pays a $3 prize on a match three ticket and awards a free ticket for a match two ticket.
Hoosier Lotto tickets are available at over 4,000 retailers in Indiana. They must be purchased by 10:39 p.m. for the approximately 10:50 p.m. drawing.
In last night's Mega Millions® drawing, Hoosiers won over $274,000 in prize money on over 123,000 tickets! The $400 million jackpot will be shared by winners in Florida and Maryland.
Profits from the sale of Mega Millions, Powerball, Hoosier Lotto and all Hoosier Lottery tickets sold in Indiana stay in Indiana.
