Fairmount woman gets welcome break
Bobbie Norris of Fairmount works seven days a week at two jobs to pay the bills. Recently, the hard-working mother-of- two made a rare purchase that turned out to be the break she had been waiting for. Norris says she occasionally plays the Hoosier Lottery, but almost never buys $5 lottery tickets. Friday night she decided to spring for a $5 $100,000 Bonanza Scratch-off that ended up being worth $100,000. Norris is a bank teller and a retail customer service representative. Even with a $100,000 winning ticket in her pocket, she worked three full shifts over the weekend before presenting her winning Scratch-off to Lottery officials in Indianapolis Monday morning. She choked back tears as she explained that she was on her way to an already-planned and much-needed mini-vacation at an Indianapolis-area water park with her sons. “I woke up at six this morning,” said Norris. “I was so excited!” Click here to read more of Bobbie's story.
