A Rochester man has simple plans after winning $1 million from the Hoosier Lottery. “I’m going to buy a new pair of shoes,” said Charles “Butch” Harding.
The Fulton County man will be in a position to buy more than a pair of shoes after scratching off a $1 million prize on the Hoosier Lottery’s Lucky Millionaire Scratch-off - but he doesn’t plan to. For Harding, it’s all about family.
“If you don’t have family you don’t have nothing,” said Harding as he waited for his winnings at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters last Friday. “That’s what it’s all about. I’m going to help my family be comfortable.”
The former drywall installer and current mechanic conceded that he might splurge and buy himself Notre Dame football season tickets to go with his new pair of shoes, but other than that he doesn’t plan to do things much differently than he always has. He plans to continue going to work every day and spoiling his grandchildren. Click here to view video of Charles at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters.
