Latest Hoosier Lotto winner plans to take it slow
The latest Hoosier Lotto jackpot winner wasted no time in redeeming his winning ticket once he discovered he’d won. Now that he has done that, however, it’s time to hit the brakes. The $9.5 million jackpot had laid unclaimed for nearly two weeks when Robert L. Simmons of Indianapolis came to Hoosier Lottery Headquarters January 13. The delay was not intentional, however; Simmons simply had not checked his ticket until January 12! “I took my ticket to a gas station to scan it, and it just said, ‘Congratulations,’ and that I needed to go to the Hoosier Lottery offices,” Simmons said. “I didn’t even know how much the jackpot was. I thought it was a million or a few hundred thousand or something.” Instead, he discovered he had won the entire jackpot himself! To read more about Robert's story, click here.
