Southern Indiana family gets unexpected payday
A Southern Indiana family has won $500,000 on a Hoosier Lottery Scratch-off. James and Mary Virgin of Chandler, Ind. claimed the prize on behalf of themselves and their three grown children, Jesse Virgin of Chandler, Jamie Bingham and Amanda Daum, both of Newburgh at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters in Indianapolis Tuesday. The Virgin Family won a top prize on the $500,000 Payday Scratch-off. James and Mary say the win was hard to believe at first. “He showed me the ticket and I kept checking the back of the ticket looking for the joke,” said Mary Virgin. “I kept saying ‘Yes! Yes! Yes!’ but I kept waiting for the punchline, too.” Click here to read more about the Virgins' story.
